Saltersgate Cottage railway station[1] served the villages of West Butsfield and Satley in County Durham, England, from 1855/65[2] to 1894[3][4] on the Stanhope and Tyne Railway between Tow Law, Stanhope & Consett.[5][6]
History[edit]
The station was not officially opened other than being mentioned on OS Maps in the area between 1855-65 and 1894. The station was closed some time around 1894 and the line closed to passengers in 1939. A military depot opened in Burnhill Junction before closing to all traffic in 1969.[7]
