Sherlock and Daughter is an upcoming mystery television series created by Brendan Foley, and based on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Starring David Thewlis, Blu Hunt and Dougray Scott, it will air on The CW in the United States and Discovery+ in the British Isles.

Premise[edit]

Sherlock Holmes is working on a case when an American girl whose mother has been murdered claims to be his daughter.[1]

Production[edit]

The project was given a series order by The CW in February 2024. It has Starlings Television Distribution, Albion Television and StoryFirst producing, with Brendan Foley as creator and James Duff as showrunner. They both executive produce alongside Karine Martin, Chris Philip, Peter Gerwe, Dominic Barlow, Ivan Dunleavy and Escapade Media. Micah Wright and Shelly Goldstein serve as writers.[3]

The cast is led by David Thewlis and Blu Hunt with Dougray Scott cast as Moriarty.[4][5]

Filming took place in Dublin in April 2024.[6] Filming is also scheduled for County Wicklow.[7]

Broadcast[edit]

The series will be broadcast on The CW in the US, whilst Discovery+ will air the series in the UK and Ireland.[8]
