The Habenhauser Fußballverein von 1952 e. V.[4] is a German football club based in Bremen-Habenhausen. The club's senior men's team played in the fifth-tier Bremen-Liga[5] from 2008 to 2022. The club's home matches are held at the Sportanlage Bunnsackerweg.

History[edit]

Habenhauser FV was founded on March 2, 1952, and started with two senior men's teams in the 3. Kreisklasse (3rd district league) at that time. Three years later, the club leased a plot of land on the Weser river dike, which has been the club's home ground ever since. Between 1958 and 1961, Habenhauser FV climbed up to the Kreisliga Bremen, which was the highest amateur league in Bremen at that time.

In the 2008-2009 season, the club earned promotion to the Bremen-Liga, which is the fifth tier of the German football league system. Habenhauser FV competed in the Bremen-Liga for several seasons, with varying degrees of success. Their highest position in recent years was seventh place in the 2008-2009 season, while their lowest position was 17th in the 2021-2022 season. The team struggled in the latter season and was ultimately relegated from the Bremen-Liga.
